SASG Eide meets with Secretary-General Guterres in New York

The Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide, meets with UN Secretary-General António Guterres at UNHQ in New York on 5 May 2017.

NEW YORK, 05 May 2017 – Today, the Special Adviser of the Secretary-General (SASG) on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide, met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres at UNHQ in New York. Following the meeting, Mr. Eide said he and the Secretary-General had held a “thorough, strategic discussion” at this critical juncture of the #Cyprustalks.

While in New York, SASG Eide also held consultations with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, the guarantors and the sides, all of whom are in agreement that the progress achieved in the talks should not be lost, and the existing momentum should be utilised.
