Cyprus leaders prepare for next week’s all-day meetings
Nicosia, 3 September -- The two Cyprus leaders met briefly at the United Nations offices here this morning in what was summed up as a “good discussion predominantly on the property issue”. This morning’s discussion, which lasted a little over an hour, was in preparation of the all-day meetings to take place next week at the Chief of Mission’s residence. Speaking to reporters following today’s meeting, Alexander Downer, the Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on Cyprus, announced that the two leaders, Demetris Christofias and Dervis Eroglu, will be meeting on 8 and 10 September, instead the 7th and 10th as previously announced.

Secretary-General's Report to the Security Council
The present report covers developments related to the Secretary-General's good offices mission in Cyprus during the period from 25 November 2009 to 30 April 2010. The Secretary-General reports that considerable progress has been made in the United Nations-sponsored peace talks in Cyprus during the reporting period and notes there is now a unique opportunity to make a decisive push forward on the talks.
