Cyprus Leaders discuss power-sharing issues
Nicosia, 28 November 2011 - Cyprus Leaders continued their direct discussions following their meeting with the Secretary General in New York some four weeks ago. The Leaders will reconvene again on Thursday 1st December in a meeting focused on Governance and Power-sharing. Today's short meeting saw the Leaders exchange views on power-sharing proposals. The continue to hold direct talks and meet separately with the United Nations' Good Offices in Cyprus on a weekly basis.
Responding to questions from the media on the ongoing talks, the Special Advisor of the Secretary-General, Alexander Downer, stated that “They had a long and lively discussion about the issue of governance and power-sharing and they will resume that discussion again on Thursday when the Leaders are next scheduled to meet.”
The leaders will meet again on Thursday, 1st December in Nicosia.

The Leaders will reconvene again on Thursday 1st December, once again focusing on Governance and Power-sharing. Today's short meeting saw the Leaders exchange views on proposals following their meeting with the Secretary-General in New York at the end of October. The Leaders continue to hold direct talks and meet separately with the United Nations' Good Offices in Cyprus on a weekly basis.
